Fair Winds Clothing is for people who do not merely visit the coast—they carry it with them. The brand grew from Coast Guard service as a Boatswain’s Mate (BM) and Food Service Specialist (FS), working with crews, rough weather and the traditions that connect everyone drawn to the sea.

The founder’s watch

Five commands. One lasting connection to the sea.

Founder Bean served as both a Boatswain’s Mate (BM) and Food Service Specialist (FS). His assignments began aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Sweetbriar and later included the Coast Guard Cutter Dorado. The commands between them crossed cutters, boat stations, different waters and different missions—but the constant was always the crew.

Fair Winds carries that experience forward through original nautical apparel made for sailors, fishermen, boaters, veterans and coastal people who understand that the water is part of who they are.
